{"id":809,"date":"2023-10-05T12:31:38","date_gmt":"2023-10-05T15:31:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jdf.cl\/?p=809"},"modified":"2024-01-03T15:51:49","modified_gmt":"2024-01-03T18:51:49","slug":"jara-del-favero-abogados-y-embajada-de-japon-realizan-encuentro-para-abordar-materias-energeticas-y-mineras","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jdf.cl\/en\/jara-del-favero-abogados-y-embajada-de-japon-realizan-encuentro-para-abordar-materias-energeticas-y-mineras\/","title":{"rendered":"Jara Del Favero Attorneys at Law and Embassy of Japan hold meeting to discuss energy and mining matters"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><em>The activity was attended by top representatives of national, Japanese and international companies with a presence in Chile, who discussed joint challenges and opportunities for growth and development in these areas.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the framework of 120 years of commercial relations between Chile and Japan, Jara Del Favero Abogados and the Embassy of Japan organized a meeting to deepen the relationship between the two countries and discuss energy and mining issues, such as renewable energies, green hydrogen, copper and lithium.<\/p>\n<p>The activity was attended by the Chilean-Japanese Chamber of Commerce, the highest representatives of national, Japanese and international companies with presence in Chile, as well as parliamentarians and special guests.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, which was led by the Japanese Ambassador to Chile, Kazuhisa Shibuya, and JDF lawyers Ram\u00f3n Jara Araya, Francisco L\u00f3pez and Javier Naranjo, the close commercial relationship between the two countries based on mining was discussed.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, Francisco L\u00f3pez, director of the Energy area of JDF Abogados, said that \u201cChile and Japan have a common challenge, which is to move towards sustainable development and be carbon neutral by the year 2050. And this goal can only be achieved by working together and promoting three fundamental sectors: mining, energy and green hydrogen.<\/p>\n<p>He assured that by the year 2030 Chile will need to increase by 2.5 times the installed capacity in renewable projects, which is equivalent to about 20 additional GW of solar and wind energy, in the same way for that same year it is required to have energy storage for a capacity of 3 to 5 GW. \u201cThis demonstrates \u2013 he explained \u2013 the need and the opportunity to continue deepening the collaboration between both countries, and the multiple Chilean and global companies that have important projects in operation or development\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>For his part, the Japanese Ambassador to Chile, Kazuhisa Shibuya, stated that \u201cChile and Japan are strategic partners that share fundamental values such as respect for democracy, human rights and the importance of the rule of law.
